- Instructions to Authors -

         Scientific Article should contain the following sections: Title (English and Portuguese), Abstract with Key words; Resumo and Palavras-chave; Introduction (containing the respective Literature Review); Material and Methods; Results, Discussion and Conclusions; Acknowledgments; Sources and Manufactures when necessary. The sections Results and Discussion; or Results, Discussion and Conclusions may be combined.

        Review Article should contain the sections: Title (English and Portuguese), Abstract; Key words; Resumo; Palavras-chave; Introduction; Text; Conclusion (optional) and References.

         Case Report should contain: Title (English and Portuguese), Abstract and Key-words; Resumo and Palavras-chave; Text (without subdivision in sections, but ordered accordingly in introduction, methodology, results, discussion, conclusion) and References.

         Short Notes should contain the following sections: Title (English and Portuguese), Abstract with Key words; Resumo and Palavras-chave; Introduction (containing the respective Literature Review); Material and Methods; Results, Discussion and Conclusions; Acknowledgments; Sources and Manufactures when necessary. The sections Results and Discussion; or Results, Discussion and Conclusions may be combined.

         Dissertation and Thesis Abstract should contain: Title (English and Portuguese), Abstract and Key words; Resumo and Palavras-chave.

         The articles, should have the text prepared in the Word and graphics in Excel, should be digitized in Portuguese or English language and sent in three paginated copies.  Also it should be sent a CD copy of the article. 

         The concepts and opinions in the article are authors exclusive responsibility and do not reflect, necessarily, the opinion of the Committee of Publishing of the magazine. 

         The article manuscript requirement should contain, obligatorily, the signature of all authors or commitment term of the main author, making responsible itself by the coauthors enclosure. All of the articles received will be submitted to the evaluation of the body of scientific consultants of the magazine.  The address for mail is:

         The paper should be typed in A4 210 x 297mm containing no more than 28 lines per page. The font Times New Roman 12 should be used. Three copies of the paper, typed in English or Portuguese should be submitted. Please submit four copies for reviews. Scientific article should not contain more than 20 typed pages, reviews 20 pages, abstract 2 pages, short notes and review article should contain at most 12 pages, including tables and figures. Use double spacing throughout the text, including the Abstract and References. The pages should be numbered consecutively, beginning from the title page. The size of the print paper should be A4 210 x 297mm containing no more than 28 lines per page. The font Times New Roman 12 should be used. 

         The authors name should be written below the title, side to side, followed by number. These numbers, immediately below the authors name, which will indicate Department, Faculty, Graduate Program or Research Institution, Institution, City, State, Zip code and country. The corresponding author should be indicated and accompanied by full address, including the e-mail, when available. Only the last author's name should be writing completely in lower-case letter, the first and others author's names should be evident barely the initial in capital letter and without point after each letter. Offers-itself to not identification authorship in two copies of the envoys articles.

         Within the text, the authors should be cited in the text as follows: These results are in agreement with date reported by Mota e Alves (2001) e Weppert et al. (2005), as a congenital malformation (TUDURY, 2003; COELHO et al., 2004; MONTEIRO e ALMEIDA, 2005). 

         Before the references, should be mentioned when pertinent that the protocols have been approved by the Ethics and Safety Committees and animals rights. 

         The Reference list should be placed at the end of the manuscript and ordered alphabetically. Please follow the subsequent examples:

         Illustrations, graphics and photographs will be named figures and will have the number of order in Arabic numerals.  Tables and figures should be sent to the breaks, each one of them considered a page.  The illustrations and graphics (in with of 7.5 or 16 cm) should be deeds in printed graphic publisher to laser, in photographic glossy paper always in maximum quality, and should contain in the verse the name of the author, orientation of the upper border and the number of the corresponding legends and the which should be in sheets to the breaks. After approval the figures will be able to be sent digitalized with at least 800dpi, in stretch .tiff. Photographs, illustrations and graphics should be envoys, obligatorily, in three copies. The tables should contain the word table, followed by the number of order in  Arabic numeral and should not exceed a side. 

         It doubts they can be resolved by the analysis of a prior edition of the Medicina Veterinária before contacting with the editorial committee.
